Sonder Home Care May Ball
On Friday, 16th May, the Brooklands Hotel hosted a very special evening — The Sonder May Ball, in support of Princess Alice Hospice. The event brought together clients, carers, office staff, local businesses, and representatives from charities such as Purple Angels Dementia Support and Princess Alice Hospice, all dressed for the occasion in black tie.
It was a great opportunity for everyone across the Sonder Home Care community to connect in person, enjoy good food and music — all while raising money for a cause that does vital work in our local area.
Fundraising That Makes a Difference
We’re proud to share that, through ticket sales, a tombola, and a raffle, we raised over £1,000 for Princess Alice Hospice. The support from those who attended, donated, or offered prizes was hugely appreciated.
The raffle prizes were a real mix — ranging from bottles of wine and spirits, to spa day vouchers, mobility-friendly clothing, National Trust tickets, organic food discounts and much more! A big thank you goes out to all the businesses who contributed.
Music, Food, and a Full Dancefloor
A highlight of the evening was a live performance by Jimmy, who performed well-loved classics that brought the disco to life. It wasn’t long before guests were up and dancing — including some of our clients, which was a lovely and unexpected highlight of the evening.
We also enjoyed a hot buffet, a range of desserts, and a full selection of alcoholic and soft drinks.
Celebrating Our Team
The night also gave us a chance to recognise some of the standout contributions across the Sonder Home Care team with our May Ball Awards:
Positive Impact Awards
Zoe, Karen, Yvette, Roline
Office Employee of the Year
Faye
Live-In Carer of the Year
Grace

These awards reflect the consistent dedication and hard work that make such a difference to the people we support.
Looking Ahead…
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event happen — whether by attending, donating, or simply spreading the word. It was a memorable evening, and the money raised will go directly to supporting the important work done by Princess Alice Hospice.
We look forward to seeing you next year!
